Aspire Competitions is a Somerset operator with the strongest draw-integrity credential we have seen on a raffle-style site: its random number generator is independently certified by GLI, the same testing house used by regulated gambling operators. Add a 100% reply rate to negative reviews and signatory status on the government’s voluntary prize-draw code — which Aspire says it helped develop — and this is one of the more institutionally serious mid-size operators. Here is our independent review.
Who runs Aspire and how it works
Aspire Competitions Ltd was incorporated in June 2019 and is based in Yeovil, with James Ovenden as its director and controlling shareholder. Draws are performed with the GLI-certified RNG and streamed on Facebook Live, with the winner phoned during the draw. Entry caps per person are displayed on each competition, tickets start from about 25p, and around 30 competitions run at once — recent examples included a VW camper “Family Freedom Package” with a £95,000 cash alternative, a Land Rover Defender 110 with two Sea-Doos, a Rolex GMT-Master II with a £14,000 alternative, and straight cash draws. Instant wins come from a fixed, disclosed prize pool and instant-win entries still qualify for the end prize.
The free entry route
Register an account first, then post a card with your name, Aspire account number, address, date of birth, email, phone and the competition name to Aspire Competitions Ltd, 12 Oxford Road, Yeovil, BA21 5HR — one entry per postcard, arriving before the close. Postal entries are allocated a random draw number, show up in your account history (a nice verification touch), and get the same instant-win opportunities as paid entries.
Reputation
Aspire holds a 4.6 Trustpilot rating from 29,680 reviews (87% five-star, 2% one-star) with over 4,000 reviews in the past year, and it replies to every negative review, usually within a day. Notably, its one-star column lacks the complaint clusters that dog some rivals — no recurring postal-entry or rigged-draw allegations; most gripes are “I never win” frustration and marketing volume, including SMS and email opt-outs that take more effort than they should. Winners report cash alternatives in their bank the next day. Two small print points: entry is limited to residents of England, Wales and Scotland (Northern Ireland and Ireland are excluded, despite broad marketing), and winners must respond within 28 days and pass ID checks before a prize is released.
Pros and cons
Pros
- GLI-certified random number generator — the strongest draw-integrity credential in our reviews
- Replies to 100% of negative reviews, typically within 24 hours
- DCMS voluntary code signatory, and involved in developing the code
- Postal entries visible in your account history — verifiable free entry
- Fast payouts and substantial advertised cash alternatives
Cons
- England, Wales and Scotland only — NI and Ireland excluded
- Heavy marketing volume with fiddly opt-outs
- Ticket prices on some draws are only visible after clicking through
- ID checks and a 28-day response window before prizes are released
Our verdict
Aspire pairs mid-size prizes with big-operator process discipline: certified randomness, verifiable free entries, and complaint handling most rivals do not match. If you live in Great Britain it belongs on your shortlist — as ever, check each draw’s entry cap against our odds calculator before you spend.
