McKinney Competitions is Northern Ireland’s biggest prize competition brand — a Dungannon operation with an enormous, loyal Irish and UK audience, the largest Trustpilot review base in the sector, and headline prizes up to a £400,000 coastal home. It is a legitimate operator with slick live draws; the things to understand before entering are its very large entry pools and one significant terms clause about property prizes. Who runs McKinney Competitions?
The operator is Top Gear Autos NI Ltd, incorporated January 2020 and based in Moy, County Tyrone, trading from Dungannon. The brand grew out of the McKinney family’s motor trade and now runs everything from vehicles and cash pots to holiday homes, with both live-streamed and automated draws.
How the competitions work
McKinney runs some of the largest entry pools in the UK and Ireland. Live examples when we checked on 28 July 2026: a coastal four-bed Donegal home (or £400,000 cash) at £2.99 a ticket with 599,999 total tickets; a 2026 Swift Trekker motorhome (or £55,000) at 29p with 589,999 tickets; and a £25,000 “Prize Crane” pot at 29p. Winners are drawn within seven days by a random draw, instant-win ticket assignment uses what the terms describe as a verifiably random process, and draws run both live and as automated “Auto Draws”. The free entry route
Post the competition name with your full name, address, phone and email to Free Entries, PO Box 1554, Dungannon BT70 9DQ. Bulk entries in one envelope count as a single entry and hand-delivered cards are not accepted. Worth knowing: on a past £1,000,000 competition McKinney initially restricted free postal entries to one per person, lifting the restriction after complaints from the comping community — the standard terms now mirror the usual one-entry-per-card approach.
Reputation
McKinney holds a 4.8 Trustpilot rating from a sector-leading 37,095 reviews (91% five-star, 2% one-star), with nearly 9,000 reviews in the last year and replies to 96% of negative ones. One caveat when reading that number: a large share of reviews are collected at checkout — “easy to enter” experiences rather than winner outcomes — which inflates the volume relative to rivals whose reviews skew toward draw results. Even allowing for that, the underlying reputation is strong: live draws are popular, winners are visible, and complaint patterns are unremarkable.
The 50% property cash alternative — read this before entering a house draw
McKinney’s terms state that where a property prize defaults to a cash alternative, that alternative is 50% of the property’s value. Win the £400,000 Donegal home draw and take the cash instead of the house, and the advertised figure — not the terms default — is what matters, so check each listing carefully: where a competition page advertises “or £400,000 cash” that stated figure applies, but where no cash figure is advertised on a property draw, the 50% default is the fallback. Cash alternatives on vehicle draws are stated per listing in the normal way.

Our verdict
McKinney is a credible, well-liked operator with real scale and good draw transparency. Enter with two things in mind: flagship odds are long because the pools are enormous, and on property draws you should always check what the cash alternative actually is before buying tickets. Do that, and it is one of the more dependable sites in these islands.
