Warning: X-Clusive Competitions is no longer operating. The company entered voluntary liquidation in January 2026 and its website is offline. Do not attempt to buy tickets, and treat any site or social media page claiming to be X-Clusive as suspect.

    What happened to X-Clusive Competitions?

X-Clusive Competitions Ltd (Companies House no. 11993062), founded in May 2019 and based in Market Harborough, ran fixed-odds car and prize competitions for several years, including verified big-ticket wins — reviewers reported a BMW M3 delivery and a Rolex-plus-cash instant win paid within half an hour as recently as early 2025. The public record then deteriorated quickly: the company’s accounts due by 31 May 2025 were never filed, a compulsory strike-off process began with a First Gazette notice in December 2025, and on 22 January 2026 the company passed a winding-up resolution, with a liquidator appointed on 27 January 2026. When we checked on 28 July 2026 the website was offline and the company’s Trustpilot profile (4.3 from 895 reviews) had received no new reviews in twelve months.

In the months before the collapse, a cluster of reviews from spring 2025 alleged that instant-win top prizes were held back until ticket sales covered them and that the firm’s payment gateway had dropped it; several customers said they were pursuing card chargebacks. Those are reviewer allegations rather than official findings — but the liquidation and the unfiled accounts are documented fact.

What to do if you held tickets or credit

    • If you bought tickets by debit or credit card within the last 120 days, contact your bank about a chargeback; credit card purchases over £100 may also be covered by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
    • For older purchases or unspent site credit, you are an unsecured creditor: the liquidator’s details are on the company’s Companies House filing history, and you can register a claim with them directly.
    • Be wary of any page claiming X-Clusive has “relaunched” or offering to recover your money for a fee — recovery-scam operators target creditor lists.

    The lesson for competition entrants

UK prize competitions are unregulated businesses: if an operator fails, there is no protection scheme behind your tickets. X-Clusive is exactly why we weight trustworthiness so heavily in our BCR scores and why we recommend checking an operator’s Companies House record — overdue accounts and strike-off notices are visible months before a collapse. Our 10-point legitimacy check walks through the warning signs, and our leaderboard lists the operators that currently pass them. X-Clusive’s BCR score has been withdrawn.
